I have rode the sportster and I own a Savage, I can say this the Savage is a much more comfortable bike to ride. As for vibration the only time I really noticed it on my Savage is sitting still. At 60 to 70 mph there isn't any vibration. Now the Sportster is another story at 60 to 70 mph there is a definate vibration. Kinda like a weedeater, if you ride it long enough your hands feel the vibration all night. But some people like that. Good luck with which ever choice you make, just don't make the choice because of the name on the bike because I have seen many people miss out on a great ride just to have a bike they are dissapointed with.
